Founded in 1992, the Foundation for the Future has funded vital academic programs that have steadily improved student performance. Today M-A is among the top-ranked high schools in the country and the future is bright.

A Laptop ComputerM-A's College Advisor invites incoming 9th grader or current 9th grader plus two or three of their friends for a casual breakfast or lunch conversation at Cafe Borrone. Ms. Kleeman will share some great tips about how they might get the most out of high school and they will learn more about how to have an authentically rich and enjoyable M-A experience. This is not a college-counseling session (although students who have the highest-quality high school experiences do magically become the strongest college applicants).

Friend Me! A Tour of the Facebook Campus

Enjoy a unique opportunity not offered to the general public: a behind-the-scenes tour of Facebook for 10 lucky Menlo-Atherton students! A 2.5 hour tour of Facebook's campus will start in the main Engineering building in Palo Alto where students will meet Facebook software engineers, game and applications developers and view the Facebook security bunker. Students will then board the company shuttle and visit the second Palo Alto campus. Tour includes a history of Facebook, complete with graffiti art and memorabilia from the very first Facebook offices. Snacks will be provided by Facebook.
Restrictions: Tour to be scheduled on a mutually agreed upon date, preferably on a Tuesday or Wednesday with tour start time no later than 3:00 p.m. Tour must be scheduled at least 20 days in advance. Expires December 31, 2011. For Menlo-Atherton students only.

Understanding the steps to a successful college application can be an overwhelming process. One-on-One Private College Counseling Sessions

College Search Strategies is offering five private one-on-one college counseling sessions, including the introductory 1.5 hour meeting. Whether your teen is a freshman, sophomore or junior right now, it's not too early to begin! Sessions can include planning a personal timeline, developing a list of colleges, identifying dreams, goals, interests and abilities, personality mosaics, interview practice, building confidence, resume writing, standardized test schedule, college sports recruit support, or preparing for the arts. Also get questions answered, identify what might be important to your teen when searching for a college, and create an initial list, or clarify an existing one. Alleviate some of the stress for you and your teen while "keeping it real."

Attention Baseball Fans! Do you know of a youth baseball team (Little League Majors, Juniors or Babe Ruth) that would enjoy a fun practice run by the 2010-11 M-A Varsity Baseball team? The individualized program is created using our Force Plate and proprietary technology.
